New York Fashion Week and Fashion Editor in Training Internship

This past week has been so exciting!

First of all, I just got a Fashion Editor in Training internship with VainLLC. I'll be doing different things with fashion journalism and working with the PR people to create content for their online fashion magazine. I am so excited! I just started the training process today.

Boy, do I have a lot to learn.

But it's okay. Life is a whole learning process, right?

And I figure it will be easier to do something hard if I love it. And I think I'm going to love it!

But, let's talk some more about Fashion Week.

In New York it is Day 6 of Fashion Week already. Where has the time gone??

Two of my all-time favorite fashion designers have had their fashion shows today: Carolina Herrera and Zac Posen. Carolina Herrera is so chic! And Zac Posen is quintessentially elegant.

But I found some new favorites scrolling through the slideshows and reading the descriptions in Vogue. I found some new favorites! Including Tome, who chose Georgia O'Keefe as a muse (so interesting!) and Donna Karan's collection is so insanely womanly and curvaceous.

Here are some of my favorites!

These first three are from Donna Karan:

I am so obsessed with New York Fashion Week, you guys. Can you even imagine getting to go and actually sit in those rooms with the clothes and take pictures and talk with the designer??? I think right now my dream is to be a fashion journalist for Vogue. Or a fashion editor. Or both. Well, why not both? A girl can dream, right??

Wow. I really hope I can make it there someday.

You guys, I really cannot stress to you how much artistry goes into making clothing. I know a lot of people don't think that fashion is a big deal, or that it's frivolous.

But it's an art form. Fashion is a statement about a person, or a society. You can read a society's values from their fashion. Not only that, but creating a garment is a matter of architecture and proportions and movement. It's not simple to fit a moving person's body. You have to plan and make sure you structure fabric to fit and move and fall correctly.

It's not easy.

That is what makes people like Zac Posen, Carolina Herrera, and all the other designers at Fashion Week so important. They are contributing to art and the society, not just business.

That is why I love fashion week.

Enjoy the rest of your week, my darlings. I'll be over here doing my internship! :)

New York Fashion Week 2014

Thank you, Carrie Bradshaw, for your wisdom.

If you're a fashion girl like me, then you also are very excited for fashion week!

Photos of gritty and elegant street style flood my social media. You see designers, fashion editors, journalists, all sitting in the front rows of your favorite fashion shows.

It's pure glamour.

Of course, this is just me from the outside looking in.

My trusty Vogue online magazine keeps me constantly updated on what is going on up in New York. It allows me, a Californian/Arizonian girl to feel the excitement and rush of the runway.

You'll see me there someday.

Here are some of my favorite moments so far...

Sorry about all the modern, not Old Hollywood photos. I'll get back to those soon. ;)
